Google Ads Management: Turn Searches Into Sales Leads Calls

We build, run and improve your Google Ads, from account setup and tracking to ongoing optimization, so your budget goes to the searches that bring sales, leads and calls.

What is Google Ads?

Get Found by People Who Are Already Searching

Google Ads is Google’s advertising platform. It lets your business appear at the top of Google Search, on YouTube, in Shopping and across millions of partner websites, right at the moment someone is looking for what you sell.

You choose the keywords, the audience, the location and the budget. Every time someone searches, Google runs a live auction and shows the most relevant ads. You pay only when someone clicks, not when your ad is shown.

Done well, it turns searches into sales, leads and phone calls, and every click, order and call can be traced back to the ad that earned it. That makes it one of the few channels where you can see exactly what your budget is doing.

The Google Ads auction

How Google Ads Works: Every Search Starts a Live Auction

Google Ads runs a real-time auction every time someone searches. The ad with the highest Ad Rank, which combines your bid with the quality of your ad and landing page, wins the top spot, and you pay only when someone clicks.

In a fraction of a second Google compares every advertiser bidding on that search and decides which ads appear and in what order. The winner isn’t simply the biggest budget; it’s the advertiser who is most relevant to what the person is looking for, so a well-run account can beat a bigger one.

  1. SEARCH

    Someone searches

A buyer types a query on Google, or browses Shopping, YouTube, Gmail or a partner site. Google reads the intent behind the words, plus the person’s location, device and time of day.
  2. AUCTION

    Google runs the auction

Every eligible advertiser enters. Ad Rank is calculated from your bid, your ad and landing page quality, the expected impact of your assets and the context of the search. A lower bid with a better ad can outrank a higher one.
  3. CLICK

    You pay per click

The best-ranked ads show, in order. You’re charged only when someone clicks, and usually less than your max bid — just enough to stay ahead of the next advertiser. Showing up in the results costs nothing.
Simplified example with illustrative numbers. Advertiser A bids €1.20 with a quality score of 9.0, so its Ad Rank is 10.8. Advertiser B bids more (€1.80) but its quality is 5.0, so its Ad Rank is 9.0 and it ranks second. A pays about €1.01 per click, less than its €1.20 maximum.
Campaign types

Google Ads Campaign Types: The Right Campaign for Every Goal

Google Ads has six campaign types most businesses use: Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Demand Gen, Display and YouTube video. Search captures people who are already looking, Shopping sells products with photo and price, Performance Max reaches every Google channel from one campaign, Demand Gen and YouTube build demand before people search, and Display shows banner ads across websites and apps. We choose and combine them around your products, margins and funnel.

Google is also moving classic Display campaigns into Demand Gen, which now covers the Google Display Network, so banner and remarketing ads are managed there. If you run Display today, we plan the move with you so your remarketing audiences and conversion tracking carry over.

  1. SEARCH

Capture people who are searching for what you sell

Your ads appear in Google Search results.
  2. SHOPPING

Sell products with photo, price and reviews

Your ads appear in Google Search and Shopping results.
  3. PERFORMANCE MAX

Get the most from one budget across Google

Your ads appear on YouTube, Display, Search, Discover, Gmail and Maps.
  4. DEMAND GEN

Build demand with visual ads before people search

Your ads appear on YouTube (including Shorts), Discover, Gmail, Maps and the Google Display Network.
  5. DISPLAY

Show banner ads and follow up with visitors

Your ads appear across the Google Display Network, on websites and apps.Display campaigns are moving into Demand Gen.
  6. YOUTUBE VIDEO

Reach people with video and build awareness

Your ads appear on YouTube and Google video partners.

Google Shopping Campaigns

Google Shopping campaigns show your products with photo, price, store name and reviews directly in Google search results, so shoppers can compare and click on exactly what they want, and you pay only when they click.

Best for: online stores and retailers with a product catalogue, especially products people compare by price.

  1. FEED

    Product feed optimization and cleanup

Your product feed is the ad. Every product needs an ID, title, description, link, image, price and availability, and titles can run up to 150 characters. We fix titles, images, prices, categories and stock data in Google Merchant Center, and add GTINs where available, so the right products match the right searches and feed errors never cost you sales.
  2. SEGMENTS

    Segmentation by margin and bestsellers

We split your catalogue into groups, such as bestsellers, high-margin items and slow movers, so each group gets its own bid and budget instead of treating every product the same.
  3. BIDDING

Smart bidding with real revenue data

We connect real revenue and conversion values, then use Google’s smart bidding with a target return on ad spend, so budget moves to the products that actually bring profit.
Example of a Google Shopping result on a phone: product photo, price, store name, review rating and a free shipping label. Products and prices are illustrative.

Google Performance Max Campaigns

Performance Max is a Google Ads campaign type that runs your ads on YouTube, Display, Search, Discover, Gmail and Maps from one campaign. You give Google your goals, budget and creative assets, and its AI decides where each ad appears to reach the people most likely to convert.

Best for: online stores and lead-generation businesses that already track conversions and have images, text and video to feed the campaign.

  1. ASSETS

Asset groups built around real products and offers

Google combines your headlines, descriptions, images, logos and videos into ads for every channel, so the quality and variety of your assets decide how well the campaign performs. We build a separate asset group for each product line or audience theme, with text and images that match the landing page.
  2. SIGNALS

Audience signals from your own customer data

Audience signals show Google AI who your best customers are, so it learns faster. We feed it your customer lists, past converters and search themes as a starting point, not a limit: Performance Max can still reach new people who look likely to convert.
  3. CONTROLS

Controls that keep automation on brand and on budget

We set brand exclusions, negative keywords, placement exclusions and content suitability filters, and review final URL expansion so traffic does not land on the wrong pages. Exact match keywords in your Search campaigns are served before Performance Max, so the two work together instead of competing.
Example of one Performance Max campaign appearing across Google: a Search ad, a YouTube video ad, a Gmail promotion, a Maps listing and a Discover feed card, all built from the same assets. Business and numbers are illustrative.

Google Demand Gen Campaigns

Demand Gen is a Google Ads campaign type that shows image, video and carousel ads on YouTube (including Shorts), Discover, Gmail and the Google Display Network, so you reach people who are not searching for you yet. Google AI shows your best-performing visuals to the people most likely to be interested, and Google is also moving classic Display campaigns into Demand Gen.

Best for: brands and shops that need to create new demand, launch a product or win back website visitors, and that have strong images or video to show.

  1. CREATIVES

Visual ads in the formats each surface needs

Demand Gen supports image, video and carousel ads (2 to 10 cards) and product feeds, and Google advises using both images and video. We prepare landscape, square, portrait and vertical versions of your best visuals, with minimal text, so they fit YouTube Shorts, Discover and Gmail.
  2. AUDIENCES

    Lookalike and first-party audiences

We build lookalike segments from your past buyers, website visitors or YouTube viewers, and choose a narrow, balanced or broad setting to trade reach against similarity. We add your own data segments and custom segments built from keywords, URLs and apps, and exclude people who already interacted with your business when the goal is new customers.
  3. TESTING

Creative tests and measurement beyond clicks

We run creative A/B experiments and read results for every asset and format, and use Search Lift or Conversion Lift studies where available to measure people who were not yet searching. With Target CPA bidding we set a budget of at least 10 times your target CPA, so the campaign has room to learn.
Example of one Demand Gen campaign across Google’s visual surfaces: a YouTube Shorts ad, a Discover carousel, a lookalike audience built from your customers and a banner on a website in the Google Display Network. Business and numbers are illustrative.

YouTube Video Campaigns

YouTube video campaigns show your video ads on YouTube and on websites and apps that run on Google video partners, so you can build awareness, drive views and bring people to your website. You choose the format, from skippable and non-skippable in-stream ads to bumpers, in-feed ads and YouTube Shorts. Google has also upgraded Video action campaigns to Demand Gen.

Best for: brands that want to be remembered before people start comparing, and businesses that can show their product or service in motion.

  1. FORMATS

The right video format for each goal

Skippable in-stream ads can be skipped after 5 seconds, non-skippable in-stream ads run 15 seconds or less, and bumper ads run 6 seconds or less and cannot be skipped. We match the format to the goal: bumpers for short reminders, longer in-stream ads for storytelling, and in-feed and Shorts ads for people who are browsing.
  2. TARGETING

    Viewers who match your customers

We reach people by demographics, topics and keywords, and remarketing to people who already engaged with your brand, so your video goes to viewers who look like your buyers instead of to everyone on YouTube.
  3. RESULTS

Views that count and costs you can see

A view counts after 30 seconds of watching (or the full ad if it is shorter) or an interaction, so a view means real attention, not a passing impression. We use Target CPV bidding to set the average price per view, and track views, costs and budget in Google Ads.
Example of a YouTube video campaign: a skippable in-stream ad on a desktop watch page, the same ad on a phone with a sponsored video in the Up next list, and a chart of the main video ad formats and their lengths. Business and numbers are illustrative.

Which Google Ads Campaign Fits Your Business?

Answer four questions about your goal, product catalog, budget and creative assets, and this quiz shows which Google Ads campaign types to start with and which to add next.

By industry

How Google Ads Strategy Changes by Industry

E-commerce, car rental, real estate, beauty, health, fitness, home services, restaurants and B2B each need a different goal, campaign mix and conversion tracking. Choose your industry to see where we would start.

Common mistakes

9 Common Google Ads Mistakes That Waste Your Budget (and How to Fix Them)

These nine mistakes show up most often when we audit Google Ads accounts. Each card names the mistake, explains why it costs money and gives the fix. Some hit every account, others appear only in one campaign type, which is named on each card.

All campaigns

Counting the wrong conversions as primary goals

Smart Bidding optimizes toward the conversions you mark as primary. If page views or button clicks count as primary goals, Google learns to find cheap clicks instead of buyers.

Fix:Only purchases and qualified leads as primary goals, with conversion values and enhanced conversions checked in the account. Why conversion tracking matters.

Ignoring the Google Ads search terms report

The search terms report lists the real searches that triggered your ads. Without negative keywords added from it, broader keywords keep spending on searches that never buy.

Fix:A weekly search terms review, with negative keyword lists set per campaign.
Account structure

Running everything in one campaign

Brand searches, new products and low-margin items need different bids and budgets. In one campaign they share a single budget and target, so none of them can be steered.

Fix:Separate campaigns by goal, product group and brand versus non-brand.

Running Performance Max with no guardrails

Performance Max shows ads across all Google channels from the assets and audience signals you give it. Without brand exclusions and negative keywords, it can spend on brand searches that Search would capture anyway.

Fix:Brand exclusions, negative keywords and placement exclusions, plus separate asset groups for each product theme.

Judging Demand Gen campaigns like Search

Demand Gen reaches people on YouTube, Discover and Gmail before they search. Measured by last-click sales alone, it can look weak while it builds the demand that Search later captures.

Fix:Compare it on assisted conversions and Search Lift or Conversion Lift tests, with a budget set relative to your target CPA, as Google recommends.

Burying the message in a YouTube video ad

Viewers can skip a skippable in-stream ad after five seconds. If the brand, the offer and the reason to care come later, a share of viewers never sees them.

Fix:The hook, the brand and the offer in the first five seconds, plus tests of bumper (up to 6 seconds) and non-skippable (up to 15 seconds) formats.

A messy Merchant Center product feed

Shopping and Performance Max read your Merchant Center feed. A price that differs from the landing page gets a product disapproved, and weak titles or images cost impressions.

Fix:Feed rules for titles, prices and availability, and custom labels by margin.
All campaigns

Sending every ad click to the homepage

The ad promises one thing and the homepage shows everything. Visitors who cannot find it leave, and landing page experience is part of the quality signal that decides Ad Rank.

Fix:A dedicated landing page for each ad group or product group, repeating the promise of the ad.
All campaigns

Set-and-forget account management

Searches, competitors and seasons change, so an account nobody reviews keeps spending on old assumptions. The opposite mistake also costs: changing a bid strategy’s settings often restarts its learning period.

Fix:A fixed weekly review with a change log, and one planned test at a time. 10 ways to optimize an account.
FAQ

Google Ads Management FAQ

Answers to the questions business owners ask before their first audit.

Basics

How does the Google Ads auction work?

Google runs an auction every time a search can show ads. Each eligible advertiser gets an Ad Rank based on the bid, the quality of the ad and landing page, the expected impact of ad assets and the context of the search. The highest Ad Rank wins the top position, and you pay only when someone clicks.

Costs

How much does a click cost on Google Ads?

There is no fixed price per click. The cost depends on your industry, keywords and competition. You set a maximum bid, but you usually pay less: just enough to stay ahead of the advertiser ranked below you. Better ads and landing pages can lower your cost per click for the same position.

Results

How long do Google Ads take to show results?

Early signals usually appear within the first weeks, but stable results take longer. Smart Bidding needs conversion data to calibrate, which typically takes one to two conversion cycles according to Google, so a shorter sales cycle means a shorter learning period. We judge performance over that full period rather than on daily swings.

Account

Do I keep ownership of my Google Ads account?

Yes. The account is always yours. We work inside it with the access you grant, and you can see or export everything at any time.

Costs

What does Google Ads management cost?

Two costs apply: your ad budget, which goes directly to Google, and our management fee. The fee depends on scope and ad spend, and there are no long-term contracts. Request a free audit and we will outline a clear proposal.

Costs

How much should I spend on Google Ads per month?

Enough to collect meaningful conversion data in your market. The right starting range depends on your cost per click, your conversion rate and the value of a sale or lead, so we calculate it from real keyword and auction data in your free audit.

Campaigns

Which Google Ads campaign type is right for my business?

It depends on your goal, margins and assets. Online stores usually start with Shopping and Search, service businesses with Search, and Performance Max is added once tracking is reliable. Demand Gen and YouTube video build demand before people search. The quiz above gives a starting point.

Tracking

How do you measure and report Google Ads results?

We measure the actions that matter to your business: purchases with their value, or qualified leads such as calls and form submissions. Tracking runs through Google Ads conversion tracking, GA4 and Google Tag Manager. Reports show cost per conversion, conversion value and, for online stores, return on ad spend.

Setup

Can you work with my existing Google Ads account?

Yes. We start with an audit of what you already have, keep what works and fix what wastes budget instead of rebuilding for the sake of it.
